UAV Test Flights were something I had the privilege of participating in with Purdue Aerial Robotics. In 4 successful flights with VTOL, horizontal flight, winch testing, and horizontal to VTOL transitions I was able to play multiple roles in the preparation of these successes.
Equipment Check: Placing wrenches, screws, tapes, allen keys, and other tools in bags corresponding to each UAV part
Flight Check: Secure tilt-rotors, tail-flaps, ailerons, and tail rotors.
Center of Mass Check: Determine correct center of mass after avionics have been placed inside fuselage to ensure smooth flight
UAV Assembly: Assemble/Remove tail and tiltrotors before transport
